The hotel, previously a four-star property operating under the name Hotel Quinta da Marinha & Villas Golf Resort, has undergone an extensive renovation, costing over EUR 5 million, to emerge as a luxurious 5-star resort. The renovation and upgrade will see the hotel accepted as part of GHOTW’s niche luxury business and incentive travel, golf, romantic and spa collections. The main changes include the redecoration of all 200 guest bedrooms and public areas, where carpets, lighting, curtains and wall coverings have all been replaced. Wengé wood is now being used extensively and the hotel’s previous earth colours have been replaced with more modern deep reds, greys and black. Many of the public areas and restaurants now boast wooden floors and the new wooden terrace area provides an excellent environment for enjoying views over the lakes and 18-hole golf course.
